Panos South Asia, Nepal Country Office offers Media
South Asia's Nepal Country Office is again offering three-month long
integrated training fellowships to 21 qualified working journalists from print,
broadcast and online media. The fellowship is supported by Enabling State
Programme, a programme of the UK Government’s Department for International
Development will seek to enhance the knowledge of the journalists in the
following areas – accountability, anti-corruption and election – and to
strengthen their skills in reporting and writing on governance
This fellowship aims to bring the journalists on board with development issues, improve their knowledge and understanding around national development priorities and challenges, and help them monitor how development programmes are being implemented.
Under the fellowship programme, candidates will be selected on a merit basis. The qualified candidate will get opportunities to participate in orientation and training sessions in Kathmandu, followed by a field trip and a three-month long mentoring programme. The training and mentoring will be conducted by the country’s seasoned media trainers in a diverse setting.
(The first training workshop and field trip would be held between August 18 and August 24.)
