The Panos South Asia Board are pleased to announce the successful passing on of the baton of PSA from A.S. Paneerselvan, who has ably directed the organization for ten years, to Damakant Jayshi who has been heading PSA’s Nepal office for the past two years. With a distinguished career in print and online media, Jayshi, who has been with the Inter Press Service in Nepal, one of the Founding Editors of Republica, Nepal’s leading English daily and a 2007 Nieman Fellow at Harvard, is an able person to lead Panos South Asia into the future.
Outgoing Executive Director, A.S. Paneerselvan says “I am delighted to be handing over to someone as capable as Damakant Jayshi. Panos is a cutting edge organization working in the area of media and I am sure Damakant will prove an able and competent leader.” The PSA Board would also like to formally record its appreciation of and gratitude to Paneerselvan who is a team builder and leader par excellence and under whose guidance Panos South Asia has not only made a name for itself but has grown from strength to strength. The Board wishes Paneerselvan the very best in his new life.
